Supported File Types

iHomeServer lets you import a wide range of media types into iTunes.  Media files fall into one of three categories:

Native File Formats

- formats that iTunes will import directly without any form of conversion being required

iTunes Converted File Formats

- formats that iTunes will import, however, for which iTunes itself will do the conversion using its built in conversion functions

Handbrake Converted File Formats

- formats that iTunes cannot import, even with its built conversion features.  For these file formats, iHomeServer integrates with Handbrake to perform the file conversion and then adds the converted file into iTunes.
